New work environment and sound studio "AMBEO room" of Sennheiser Zurich

back to objects overview

Collaborating with the Sennheiser design team, we were able to design and create their new working environment in the turn-of-the-century listed industrial building in Zurich.
It will now house the Global Brand & Design Management department, where brand specialists, designers and sound engineers work on developing the acoustic world of tomorrow.

The perfect spot for the perfect immersive sound experience

What is needed to create a room with perfect acoustics? In close cooperation with the Sennheiser AMBEO team, the acoustics specialist Markus Zehner and the design and realisation team from Gehri have created the perfect spot for an audio experience that will be remembered. In this room, new immersive 3D sound hearing systems will be tested, inspected and developed. Extreme sound insulation is achieved through the so-called room-within-a-room construction principle. The AMBEO room with the two adjoning phone booths form the center of the new offices in the listed building. This whole new work environment of Sennheiser was planned and realised by Gehri.

Along with creative zones, there are recreation rooms, phone booths and the AMBEO room for acoustic measurements. The height-adjustable LEO desks, made with solid oak and acoustic panels, create a sense of privacy, forging an affinity to the natural world. The minimalist interior design with its historic past creates an inspiring environment for the international team.
