Between the Jura mountains and the Three-Lakes region

Raiffeisen Neuchâtel et Vallées – Refurbishment and extension of the La Neuveville branch

back to objects overview

The Essence of La Neuveville
Nestled between Lake Biel and the vineyards of the Jura, La Neuveville is a place defined by history and unmistakable character. Cobbled streets, colourful façades and medieval towers shape the townscape, giving the village its unique identity and distinctive atmosphere. The refurbishment and extension of the Raiffeisen Neuchâtel et Vallées branch draw inspiration from this exceptional setting. The ambition was to create a place that reflects the bank’s values while integrating harmoniously into the architectural fabric of the town.

Where history meets contemporary banking

The interior architecture embraces the atmosphere of the historic old town and translates it into a contemporary banking environment. Warm tones, natural materials and carefully selected finishes create a welcoming ambience that inspires trust and encourages personal interaction.

Inspired by the landscapes of the Jura and the Three-Lakes region, the material palette references La Neuveville’s architectural heritage. Timber, natural materials and meticulously crafted details lend authenticity to the spaces, reinterpreting regional values through a contemporary lens.

Creating space for interaction and collaboration

Employees benefit from a workplace designed to support a variety of ways of working. Flexible consultation rooms encourage exchange and offer a high degree of adaptability. A dedicated café and lounge area invites informal encounters and moments of relaxation, while air-conditioned spaces and ergonomically designed workstations ensure a high level of comfort throughout the day.

For clients, the branch becomes a place for dialogue and connection. The expanded premises provide space for smaller client events and gatherings, creating an environment where advice, hospitality and proximity come together.

Light, comfort and accessibility

Particular attention was given to the quality of light and user comfort. Soft lighting atmospheres create a pleasant ambience, while refined materials and carefully composed details establish a harmonious balance between tradition and modernity.

Ergonomic workstations, considered acoustics, a tailored lighting concept and barrier-free accessibility in accordance with SIA 500 standards form the foundation of the project. The result is an environment that combines functionality, comfort and sustainability.

Deeply rooted in its region

The new branch is far more than a banking facility. It is part of the local community and contributes to the vitality of the town. While honouring the history of La Neuveville, it provides a forward-looking setting for advice, encounters and service.

The project translates the essence of La Neuveville into a contemporary spatial experience and pays tribute to a region where history, landscape and community converge.

Through the choice of materials, bespoke joinery details and subtle design gestures, the project also evokes the tradition of boatbuilding on Lake Biel and the town’s enduring relationship with the water.
