Encounters at eye level

Ersparniskasse Schaffhausen

back to objects overview

The new customer zone at Ersparniskasse Schaffhausen provides a welcoming and personalized banking experience, ensuring pleasant encounters at eye level.

Warm, calm and almost like home: that is the new customer zone of Ersparniskasse Schaffhausen. While the familiar, plain grey façade has been refreshed, the interior spaces has been transformed into a complete new world. The high-quality, timeless and clear aesthetic welcomes customers and leaves them with a lasting impression: durability in material and design rather than staging fleeting trends.

Welcoming culture
In response to the question of how banks welcome their customers, we designed the premises of Ersparniskasse Schaffhausen based on the philosophy of a «welcoming culture». Nothing in the new customer area is reminiscent of the formerunwelcoming, labyrinthine spaces with their offset ceilings and imposing counters.

The bank’s new entrance features lots of glass, an obstacle-free access and two steps. Upon entering, the prominent logo immediately captures attention, subtly standing out from the background. To the left — in the protected building — is a 24-hour zone with free-standing ATMs. Opposite the entrance, visitors are welcomed at the inviting reception desk, while the lounge with two workstations offers a view of the leafy inner courtyard. The large, ring-shaped ceiling luminaires resemble the stylised horns of the Schaffhauser Bock depictedin the bank’s logo.

At reception, staff take care of their customers’ requests, including cash withdrawals. For more confidential inquiries, a discreet consultation room is available for spontaneous conversations.

Sustainability
The inviting customer zone stands out for its nature-inspired colours and sustainable materials: textile ceilings, decorative aluminium and wood-lined walls are the destinctive elements and exclusive features. For instance, the real wood veneer is sourced from an American walnut tree cultivated in Europe. The six meeting rooms, reserved for customer consultations, are truly regional given by their names: Röötibärg, Bibermühle, Lindli, Iisehaalde, Riihaald and Morgetshof, they draw inspiration from local landmarks. The subtle wallpapers printed with large-scale images establish visual connections to these locations. The inviting consulting lounges are a perfect example of how closely Ersparniskasse values its customers.

Getting together
A multifunctional room is now available under the roof, along with a pleasant foyer, accessible to everyone — customers, employees and management committee members alike. This space will be used for events to encourage people to come together and facilitate encounters.

We would like to express our gratitude to Ersparniskasse Schaffhausen for the pleasant, constructive collaboration. We wish the team all the best and hope that the redesigned customer zone will enhance the banking experience for customers and employees alike.
