back to objects overview

The Raiffeisenbank Bündner Rheintal lights up right by the train station in Chur. In close collaboration with winning bidders Giubbini Architects ETH SIA from Chur, Gehri developed these inviting consultation islands.

On the outside, they are covered with thermo-formed solid surface materials and are equipped on the inside with high-performance, noise inhibiting absorption panels. Customers enter the consultation islands through two translucent sliding doors that open and close automatically. Lighting integrated at the top of the walls reflect the light indirectly back into the consultation islands from the ceiling. Gehri developed ergonomic workplaces for banking staff, meeting all the requirements in such a small space. The customer does not feel closed in, but gets to chat to an advisor in a transparent, flexible zone that offers intimacy and discretion offered by the height of, and the materials used in, the island.
