Planning a gynecology practice in Wettingen: Interior design that builds trust

Medical practice fit-out in Wettingen

back to objects overview

Through targeted, precise interventions within the existing structure, a gynecology practice has been created in Wettinge that harmoniously combines functionality with spacial calm. Clear structures, a restrained selection of materials and a tailored lighting concept create an atmosphere that offers intuitive orientation and inspires confidence.

The objective of our spatial concept for the gynecology practice in Wettingen was to respond sensitively to the specific functional requirements while establishing clear, efficient workflows. At the heart of the design is a legible spatial organisation that conveys safety, orientation and a sense of calm.

We supported the project throughout the entire planning and implementation process — from structural analysis and definition of spatial sequences to interior architectural design and execution. Our concept ist based on a clear distinction and deliberate separation of public, semi-public and internal areas. Short circulation routes and intuitive wayfinding support daily operations and enhance the sense of security for both patients and staff.

Feedback from Dr. Patkovic: «I am very happy and extremely satisfied with the work of Gehri AG and feel very comfortable in my new premises. My wishes were realised creatively and with great care. Communication was always fast and efficient. I recommend Gehri AG without reservation.»

Design concept
The formal language is based on a restrained and calming palette of materials and colours. Muted shades of green and rose structure the spaces and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that deliberately departs from the conventional medical aesthetic. Wood surfaces and matte materials add warmth and depth, supporting a subtle spacial ambiance of comfort and well-being.

A carefully applied textile element — a curtain — is used exclusively in the treatment room. It allows flexible separation within the space and reinforces the sense of privacy without compromising spatial clarity or functionality.

Lighting concept
Light is a central theme. Differentiated lighting atmospheres support orientation and quality of stay. Indirect illumination and targeted accents soften the medical character and contribute to a calm overall impression. Lowered ceiling elements and spatially structuring built-ins group the various functional zones and give the practice a clear spatial organisation.

Our role
In addition to conceptual planning, detailed interior architectural development and execution, we also assumed construction management for this beautiful project. The practice in Wettingen demonstrates how careful spatial reorganisation can create a place that reconciles functionality, calm and architectural clarity.

We thank Tanja for the trust she placed in our work. We wish the practice team a successful start and hope that the new spaces will support staff in their daily work while offering patients a place of confidence and reassurance.
