Savièse, a beautiful village located above Sion, has a rich heritage of traditions and artistic creativity. We drew inspiration from these local treasures to reimagine and encapsulate them into a modular design concept.
During the extensive renovation, Raiffeisenbank in Savièse took the opportunity to expand and reorganise its premises, combining the consulting zone with a thematic exploration of local cultural history. Upgrades to the building technology, including the installation of a PV system and new roof openings, improve natural light and nighttime cooling, ensuring optimal comfort for both customers and employees. The security desk has been replaced with an open zone offering various work and counseling options for an enriched experience. The bank has two security perimeters so that one of them can be used for external events with the corresponding infrastructure.
Inspiration
In Swiss art history, the «École de Savièse» is a well-known name for a collective of artists who worked in the municipality of Savièse in the canton of Valais, found inspiration for their work and in some cases also spent their lives there. Raiffeisenbank pays tribute to prominent artists such as Marguerite Burnat-Provins (1872-1952), Ernest Biéler (1863-1948), and Albert Chavaz (1907-1990) in its salon spaces, in homage to this artistic legacy. We were lucky enough to visit Albert Chavaz’s studio, which has remained untouched since 1990, as if the artist had recently left it.
