The new building of the Leihkasse Stammheim by Müller + Partner Architekten impresses with its subtle presence in the contemplative village of Stammheim. The creative interaction between the building envelope and our interior architecture creates a harmonious unity that is perceived by both employees and customers.
We were responsible for the interior design und supported the bank in its strategic orientation. In addition, we created the basis for assessing whether a new building or a renovation of the existing building was an option. In close cooperation with the bank, we developed a study program for the architectural competition for the building envelope.
Interior architecture and design
The timber-framed buildings in the townscape inspired the design of the ceiling which integrates lighting and sound absorption. The 300-year-old oak from the Stammheim region, a local symbol, is not only used as a material, but also appears as a motif in the form of leaves in various places in the building. The high-quality materialisation of exposed concrete, oak, linoleum, terrazzo floors and brass creates an authentic and durable impression. The customer zone is located on the ground floor, while the work and relaxation areas for employees are on the first floor. The attractive positioning of the staircase creates a spatial link between the ground floor and the upper floor – and as a result the team prefers the staircase to the elevator.
Our mission
Our mission consisted in carrying out feasibility studies and making a cost estimate for the new construction or renovation of the existing building. We also advised and supported the bank in the realisation and organisation of the architectural study mandate. Further planning services included space zoning and organisation, layout, materialisation, lighting and furnishing concept as well as interior design.
